Marketers Toolbox: Email Hunter

Note: The Marketers Toolbox series teaches our readers about new technology we're using (or experimenting with) that proves to be useful, productive, or just plain entertaining. As a marketer's secret weapon, Setup believes that the tools we use are vital to our success, thus, a marketer's toolbox is truly one of our most important resources.

Today, we introduce a tool with universal appeal. Whether you're a marketer, a salesperson, an agency, a job-seeker, or in some kind of service business, there will always be a need to find email addresses.

As we attempted to scrub our contact list to ensure our marketing automation was sending the right content to the right people, we noticed there were too many bounces and bad email data, so we set out to do the impossible: find accurate contact info.

This proved to be slightly less annoying with the help of Email Hunter, a web and browser extension tool – founded in February 2015 and named one of France's most promising startups – that finds business email addresses based on LinkedIn profiles and company websites.

Email Hunter allows you to export email data via their Google Sheets add-on, or you can download it as a CSV file, ready to upload to whatever CRM/automation platform you're using.

If you don't feel like installing the Chrome extension, you can go to their website to input a URL, and it will spit out all the email addresses associated with it.

Pricing is cheap considering how often we're looking for email information over here! You get 150 email address requests for FREE ($0/month), but you can only export them if you're paying a monthly or annual subscription. Here's the complete structure:

And here's what the plugin looks like when you're searching a LinkedIn profile:

Click the button and watch Email Hunter perform its magic –– after it has a chance to "think," it'll populate an email address and will also give you the email data’s percentage of accuracy. Be forewarned that it doesn't pull the right address 100% of the time, but it’s pretty darn close!
